a. Cancellation by the customer

Procedure

You can cancel your MobilizMC auto insurance at any time by chatting with a member of Mobiliz team. However, you cannot cancel your insurance policy retroactively.

There is only one portal access per insurance policy. If you are not the sole owner of your vehicle, you will have to share your access or designate one of the owners to be responsible for administering the insurance policy. The person who has access to the portal can make changes to the contract, including cancellation without consulting the other insureds.

Mobiliz will send you a confirmation to your email account once your cancellation is completed.

Due date

We will cancel your contract on the date requested by the vehicle owner.

Invoice

The billing will stop on the effective date of the cancellation, but any amount due before this date will have to be paid within the reasonable deadline. You will not receive any credit, because it is not possible to cancel your insurance policy retroactively.

b. Cancellation by the insurer

Possible reasons

Within the first sixty (60) days following the effective date of your policy, for any reason determined by Mobiliz.

If that is the case, we will send you an email to inform you that your insurance policy has been cancelled . The cancellation will come into effect fifteen (15) days following that notice.

After the first sixty (60) days following the effective date of your policy, if:

  • A change in your situation means that you have now become a prohibited risk
  • There is a case of non-payment of your insurance premium
  • You refuse to have the telematics device installed or replaced within the suggested deadline
  • Added driver does not meet our eligibility requirements for the program
  • Any other reason determined by Mobiliz.

In all these cases, Mobiliz will send you an email to inform you that your insurance policy has been cancelled. The cancellation will come into effect thirty (30) days following that notice.

Invoice

c. Telematics device

On the date the cancellation of your insurance policy takes effect, the telematics device will be deactivated and will stop sending information about your driving behaviour. It can remain in your vehicle without problem.

If, however, you wish to have the telematics device removed, you can make an appointment with one of our installation centres. However, the cost of the removal will be at your expense, since the removal of the telematics device is not mandatory to cancel your insurance policy.

d. Cancellation charge

There is no charge for canceling your policy, even if you cancel it during the term.
